An Adventure to Islands of Adventures

Ryan recently attended a conference that happened to be at one of the Universal hotels. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to tag along so off we went!

We ended up driving to Raleigh for a direct flight with Southwest. It was so nice to not deal with any connections.

We made it to our hotel!

First order of business- ice cream

It was freezing when we left NC that morning.  The boys couldn't believe that they got to go swimming by the afternoon!

I decided to sit this day out.

Meanwhile back home Nene was on duty.

I was impressed she was brave enough to venture to Target. A and K have talked about Target every since.
In addition to a Moana toy set apparently Kate begged to buy some lemons.
We did a low key dinner at the hotel that night.

Harrison- "did you know I like really really like this bread and butter?"

The room even had a kid hang out area and we had the whole place to ourselves.  It was great because the boys could run around and act crazy.

We stopped by the hotel gift shop and tested out Harry Potter's wand. In typical fashion when we got to the restaurant that night we realized Harrison had no shoes on.
The next morning we had early access to Island of Adventures because we were at the hotel so we took the short walk over bright and early.

First stop- Harry Pottery World.

The highlight for James was buying a chocolate frog and seeing which card he got.
Next up was Seuss Landing. This was a huge hit with both boys.

I couldn't believe it but James was tall enough to ride a lot by himself. He is growing up!

Nice hair Em...

From there we went to the Marvel area.

We saw an arcade which of course we ended up doing.

Harrison won 250 tickets here! James was so ticked and jealous.

Five minutes later James won the jackpot and got 750 tickets!  This was by far our biggest loot ever at these places.

Lots and lots of tickets

One of Harrison's prizes lol.

Afterwards we bumped into Captain America

I took a picture of James in front of the Hulk roller coaster- one of Ryan and I's favorite memories with David and Greer many years ago!
Ryan left and headed back to the conference while the boys and I kept exploring.

They loved these water guns that you could spray people on the ride below

In the Jurassic park area we went on a huge playground.

Back home these two were getting picked up from preschool and getting lots of extra attention.

We waited a long time for this ride which was way up high. It was fun but James had to ride by himself and I admit I was a little paranoid he would either freak out or slide off!

It was time for a break so Dippin Dots it was. I am not a huge ice cream fan but James in particular would always choose ice cream as his dessert of choice.

5 minutes later...

We walked back through Seuss Landing on our way to the hotel and bumped into the Grinch.

We also found a neat playground.

We finally got back to the hotel and got to meet Gru.

Best of all we got to meet up with Daddy again!
