March Misc

Another busy busy month for the Holland crew!
We had a quick visit to the train show.  It was fine but we only lasted less than an hour so probably not worth the $ spent!

This was a hit though!

Ryan took these three kiddos golfing

While Andrew and I got to play this game together

He loved it!

We FINALLY got a couch for the third floor!  When we finished that space off we  ended up using up all our budget and it drove me crazy that it did not have any furniture.  Two years later- we have a couch. Perfect for family movie night!

Sweetness

We rarely do book time all together but we did this night. Everyone captivated by daddy reading the bible!

First sleepover with all four! James set up his quilt so he could "have some peace and quiet".  We have attempted this in the past but they finally managed to make it through the whole night together

Homework time

I paid a small fortune and took all four kids to see The Lego Movie 2 by myself.  It was our first time going to a real movie together.  I was shocked that we managed to make it through the whole show and best of all we had the place to ourselves!

We were all shocked after a winter of no snow to have snow in March!

Tasting the snowflakes

Love them!

100th day of school!

Hooray for a new shipment of Litholyte! Now where to store it?!

On your mark...get set...

Life is always better with ice cream

Late night craziness with daddy

While I got to have a girl's weekend with my favorites!

It had been almost 2 years since we were all together!

These pictures summarize the best 48 hours ever together- lots and lots of conversation, laughs, and good food with a beautiful view while in our pjs.

Before I came back home I spent some time with this cutie and her big sister

While I was gone Harrison officially asked Jesus into his heart! He has been asking lots of questions over the past year or so and we have had lots of discussions with him about what it means to follow Christ. We were so excited that he made this decision.  When I got home we celebrated with a party.

A and K rotate sleeping in the "bumping" bed for nap time because they refuse to nap together now.  Andrew thought sleeping in the "bumping bed tent" was even more awesome.

How hilarious is this picture of H as an old man for the 100th day of school?

Nice hair-do bud

Melt my heart- biggest brother and little sister walking hand in hand to park.  She adores him.

So proud of James for getting the kindness award at school which meant he got free ice cream at one of our favorite stores!

I took these two on a special twin date. First we made a stop at the book store and each got to pick a new Curious George book

Next a little grocery shopping

Meanwhile back at home Ryan and the boys worked on a leprechaun trap

St Patrick's Day tradition- watching the veggie tales version and eating Lucky Charms.

I taught Harrison's class that day and this was his picture of his church community "him being baptized after he decided to follow Jesus"

Ryan has worked a TON lately which has been hard on all of us.  I've started a tradition on Saturdays when he isn't around- we eat brunch at the grill and watch cartoons while eating, something that we never get to do at home. Needless to say the kids think it's AMAZING.

Ryan and I have an ongoing struggle of trying to carve out individual time with each kid- it is just so hard to do! This day however I grabbed Harrison for hair cut and his snack of choice, a corn dog lol.

It's not all boring to be the ones left at home either!

The boys have been begging to ride their bikes to school and they finally got their wish.

One Saturday we decided to have a family fun day.  It was the first weekend day in as long as Ryan and I could remember that he did not have to do any work and that we were in New Bern. We had the best day together! First we went and rode bikes in Ryan's office's parking lot. It's the perfect huge space for riding on the weekends when it's closed.

Next we stopped at 5 Below and let everyone pick a prize. Then we walked over to the new Harris Teeter and ate lunch. So random but the kids thought it was great!

Later that day we worked on making dessert. A and K had been begging to make cupcakes and use the icing bags. I'm not sure why they thought this was so great but whatever, thanks to Amazon we now own icing bags for pipping icing!

Apparently the mixer is pretty captivating

Making the icing

Finally the fun part!

Made with love and lots of sprinkles
Kate came walking down for breakfast with these shoes on and her crown on her head.

"Take my picture mom"

International night at the boys' school

James's grade was talking about goods and services and had a marketplace where they sold items they created and donated the money to charity.  I had fun shopping!

I'm also proud to say I was the first mom who paid for the hair dye service- I wish I could have captured those kids' faces when I said I wanted a turn!

It's conference season for Ryan which means lots of trips and lots of extra work for all of us. I was so proud of his booth and his coffee debut event.

That's some good sleep

While Ryan was gone we had a preschool fundraiser.

This girl has got a serious attention span.

She also LOVED her first pony ride

By that afternoon I was so tired of single parenting that each kid got a butter knife and they spent an hour playing outside and cutting this random box. Whatever works, right?

Pajama cuteness!

Cool outfit H!
