Nene's Birthday Weekend

The weekend before my mom's birthday Ryan was working and David and Greer were going to be out of town while Georgia stayed with Nene.  I decided it would be fun to go celebrate her birthday early while also giving the kids a chance to spend some time with Georgia.

These two were so happy to see each other

After we had lunch and played for a bit it was nap time.  Andrew has to sleep in this sleep sack so he can't climb out of his crib and I find it hilarious that he can just shuffle around in it. He looks so funny!

Once everyone was up it was party time!

Nene decided she wanted to let the kids decorate individual pieces of pound cake. She had two kinds of icing and every possible decoration imaginable.  Needless to say it was a HUGE hit.

You can't have a birthday without ice cream

Birthday cards!

We love you Nene!

It was so cold but we needed to burn off some energy so we headed to the beach

"Make a silly face"- only Nene listened lol.

We came back and headed to one of the favorite activities- digging in the rocks

Nene showed off her hula hoop skills

Before long it was bedtime.  We had to all get in our good night hugs.

The next morning we were up and loaded up for church in time for the early service. Say what you want about a mini van- it sure can haul some kids and car seats!

Afterwards we did the unthinkable and took all five kids out to lunch.

"What should I order?"
James really wanted flounder and there was only an adult option.  The kid ended up eating $15 worth of fish. I can't even imagine once all of them eat off the adult menu.

A and K got introduced to the wonderful world of hush puppies and butter

Needless to say it was slightly chaotic. Worst of all Kate fell asleep for 10 mins on the way home which meant no nap! :(

That afternoon David and Greer showed up and I got some snuggles with this sweet girl.  What a great way to end the trip! Happy (early) birthday Mom/Nene!
