Feb Misc

Jan and Feb are routinely my least favorite months of the year so I have to confess I'm not sorry to see them go.  One month closer to spring!  We did have lots of great memories throughout the month though and we had three huge milestones.  Andrew gave up his pacifier cold turkey, Harrison learned to ride his bike with no training wheels, and James lost his first tooth!

This kid radiates joy- at least most of the time. He lives life in a BIG way.

I fixed our Christmas ham that we were gifted and couldn't help but laugh. 2 of the kids in the family went crazy for it!

Yum!

They ate so much!

We were gifted with an absolutely beautiful week of weather. We spent as much time outside as we possibly could. So good for all of us!

Making mud in our sleds was the activity of choice for three little boys for several days. Whatever keeps them entertained!

Baseball time!

We had our first multiples play date since October- WAY too long!  We celebrated Britney's birthday with brownies and I don't know if Amber's house will ever be the same.
WAY more chaotic at this age than ever before. and we were missing five friends!  After this day we decided all future play dates/ get togethers needed to be without children :)

One afternoon as a surprise Harrison and I baked cookies for the afternoon snack and we introduced A and K to the concept of cookies and milk

They approved!

Andrew's preschool teacher sent me this. Was she hinting he needs a hair cut?

Ryan and I escaped to the beach for a weekend with just the two of us.

We were supposed to be celebrating my mom's birthday but dad was sick so they couldn't make it. David, Greer, Ryan and I still went to dinner and toasted on their behalf.

It was cold and dreary and the most amazing weekend ever for us. We read for hours, slept, relaxed, ate too much and it was exactly what we both needed.
When we got home we told the kids we would play outside and we had been promising Harrison we would take his training wheels off his bike and let him try to ride it.  He has been wanting to for awhile but we haven't had the time to try.  He got it on the very first try!!! I was so surprised and impressed.  He learned to first ride on a balance bike and I think that made a huge difference.  It can be hard having two boys relatively close in age and I was excited that Harrison got something easily that James had struggled so much with.  Lots of good life lessons to be learned for both of them on this day.  He also made me laugh because he was obviously very proud of himself but was acting so nonchalant about it.  Also I have to pridefully say that so far I (sorry Ryan!) have taught both boys to ride their bikes. :)

Go Harrison!

One of my mom's friends posted this picture of them from college. How cute are they?

"Mom why do you always take my picture?"
We got a box full of goodies in the mail from my mom and she included homemade king cake for us.  Her homemade bread with cinnamon, sugar, and icing added.  Throwback to our life in LA!

Forgot to include these on our valentine's post. I started off so creative with this acrostic poem but boy that kid has a lot of letters in his name!

Slime kit!

New book!

DVDs for long car rides. Finding shows that all four will be content with has proven to be a challenge.

Another golf cart ride to speech

I thought this was so precious. Ryan came to say hi and then got paged to go the OR.  Harrison watched him walk all the way down until he couldn't see him anymore. He loves his daddy!

"helping" clean up
Finally lost a tooth!

The story of this tooth is that it was barely loose.  James has been one of the last kids in his class to lose a tooth , and he was SO ready. This day I really think he just started yanking on it until it came out (and my hand towel that was ruined with blood was evidence of this).

Time out time. This girl loves to stir the pot.

Sunshine, smiles, and curls. What more could you ask for?

These two love to look at these letters and sing the ABC song.

I caught them just in time from pulling them off. Doubt the hospital would have appreciated that!

When the weather was pretty we ate outside as much as possible which kept my kitchen so much cleaner!

Before school I turned his shirt around the correct way. When I picked him up it was like this again and I asked him why. His response, "Well actually this is the better picture and the best picture should be on the front. That's the point you know!" Hard to argue with that.

TMI but don't you love how you can't escape them even in the bathroom???

Bike ride down to the end of the cul de sac

Thankful for our neighbors trampoline!

Ring around the rosy

When we got home I got ready to do baths and I turned around and Kate for some reason had climbed right in with her clothes on!

We had some major yard projects done and Harrison begged to eat outside so he could watch

Harrison sometimes struggles with being kind but he has such a sweet and tender heart at times. This day he had a mini candy bar and wanted to save Ryan and James a bite and insisted that I put it in a bag and make sure it was labeled with their names.

Modeling her new dress from Nene

Sharing has been difficult for these two lately. Andrew here was saying "No no Kate Kate!"

Pizza Bingo night at school. We ate 18 pieces of pizza!!! And yes I brought A and K in their pajamas.

I had another amazing weekend at the beach with my bible study girls. We missed Shannon so much but were thankful to Face time and meet sweet Joshua. It was a weekend of staying up way too late, lounging in our pajamas until late afternoon and having so much fun!

Meanwhile back home Ryan held down the fort all by himself.

Late night game of twister

I love having a break but nothing is better than coming home to sweet snuggles

Lunch with J and H and James's fifth grade buddy

We have a new Moana obsession. Captivated!

"I got pockets!"

Getting creative with the magna tiles and magformers

I can honestly say I never thought about using the trampoline that way
