Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day marks the unofficial end of the summer/beach season around here.  James had been in school for his first week so as soon as he got out that day we headed to the beach for one final summer hurrah! This was our first trip post potty training and I was super excited we made it there with no accidents and without having to stop. :)
One of our favorite things to do when we get to the beach is head straight out to run around after sitting in the car

Pure joy!

We headed to the house where H introduced A to the joy of peeing in the grass.

The next day was also the first ECU football game so we all got dressed in our purple and gold

Enjoying some of Nene's yogurt for snack

I had in my mind to try to get a picture...

This is about how we all felt in regards to the game that day. Not looking like it will be a good season for the Pirates!

Perfect afternoon for football on the beach

I captured a rare sweet moment of A and K holding hands

And then Andrew was like "why are we doing this Kate?"

Its taken almost two years but these guys are slooooowly warming up to the beach. Maybe by next summer they will really enjoy it.

Harrison got this fish pool float from his preschool teachers and insisted on riding it around the house the entire weekend

We grilled steaks that night and fed the kids chicken earlier. Well Miss Kate decided that yes she does like filet! I don't know what was better to her- the steak or getting to use my huge fork!

A few minutes later it was off to time out for some offense.

She didn't seem thrilled with my talk about how we need to behave

Before I could blink I caught this guy dumping an entire box of Cheezits on the floor that he stole out of the pantry

These guys built our best sand castle ever.  Shortly after this picture Harrison went and knocked it all down which went over real well with James...

Pappy caught his first fish!

Ryan hung with A and K while my mom and me took the big boys to the pool

Toasting to a wonderful summer as well as the fact that the boys can swim in the pool while we watch

We couldn't find Kate and then found her like this: she had Nene's beach hat on and was carrying the potty around the house. Never a dull moment!

Our last morning we got a sitter for the twins and we went out for a morning on the boat.

We discovered an amazing area to play

So long summer!  We have enjoyed you!
