Easter

Well Ryan was working Easter (surprise surprise) and it was going to be a long five days in a row of call.  Wanting to avoid another Christmas scenario, James and I were pretty much told that we needed to go to NC for the holiday.  Needless to say it didn't take much convincing!  The day before we left we decided to do our own little Easter celebration.

For the second year in a row I waited too long to get James his Easter basket.  Next year I will order it  extra early!  Poor Ryan gets the tiny one on the right.

The bunny showed up for Mama!

Hmmmm... this candy may come in handy on the plane rides tomorrow.
We were so excited to get to NC and that Saturday Nana had a fun Easter egg hunt planned for James and some of her school friends and their children.  The bunny also had come to Nana's house!

Aunt "Whee Whee" is in town!

Time to get those eggs

For the most part the kids seemed to get the idea. Jt kept asking for "One more"

Nana had made all sorts of yummy snacks for after the hunt

When the other kids left Nana showed James her new bubble machine

And they practiced on the tricycle.  He can almost ride it!
After a nap I decided to go to the mall to get a picture with the Easter bunny.  James was not a fan of Santa this year, but he LOVED the bunny.  He was so upset when our turn was over, and it was time to leave.

Waiting in line

Pretty cute!
The next morning was Easter Sunday and can you believe it? The Easter bunny came again!

Somebody tried to take my basket!

I attempted to take a few pictures before we went to church.  Not too easy to get this wild man to sit still for long though.

Can you imagine that the sweet boy in those pictures only made it in the church nursery for 10 minutes before I got paged to come get him?!?! He was hysterical; I could hear him all the way to the sanctuary. So....James and I spent Easter church hanging out in a random classroom, playing on the playground, and running through the halls.

After lunch we re-hid the eggs and had a couple more egg hunts.

Not sure why he decided to dump them all out!

I guess so he could pick them back up again
And then we took another try at pictures.  As you know my family takes quite a few. :)

It was such a fun and special holiday weekend.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Ryan could have been with us!
