18 Months

One and a half years old!  Oh my goodness, where has the time gone?  I feel like it was yesterday that we were celebrating at the birthday party.

Stats: Slightly over 30 pounds, not sure how tall.  Wears 24 months to 2T clothes, size 5 diapers, size 6 shoes.

Likes: balloons, ice cream cones, using a spoon whenever possible, bbq sace (you even eat it with a spoon- yuck!), trash cans, the moon, balls, turning the light switch on and off repeatedly, climbing onto the furniture, singing songs with motions, reading books (over and over), trucks, cars, airplanes, coloring pictures, and playing with play dough.

Dislikes: being told "no", having to wait for things, bread (so strange), having to play independently

Some of the new words this past month: airplane, trash can, Nene (Granny), yellow, purple, puppy, Denise, Amy (your teachers at school) and many more

James you are at such a fun age!  Your dad and I love seeing how you pick up on new things, and you talk more and more each day.  You know the animal sounds for cow, cat, and snake and you can identify most of the animals and items in your picture books.  You have become VERY attached to your mama which is sweet but can be a little hard on the other adults in your life.  You love to share your juice cup with anyone or anything around you such as your teddy bear, the people in your books, or even the fish in the fish tank at the restaurant.  Whenever your daddy gives mama a kiss you give her one too which is very sweet.  You still love music, love dancing, and hate to nap.  Some things never change! :)  We love you sweet boy!

We had a hard time with getting these pictures

Hmmm....is bear thirsty?

Hurray for a package in the mail!

The other big news from the past few days is that we have our first big injury.  Several days ago James was running and fell/slipped onto the floor. Somehow he managed to get a sprained hip which means that he has been unable to stand or walk.  Needless to say it has made for some interesting days as we try to figure out ways to entertain him while keeping him comfortable.  The visit to the doctor was somewhat traumatic for both of us, and we had our first of probably many x-rays.  Hopefully he will be up and running soon!

Sweet baby cried himself to sleep after the doctor's visit
