Dinosaur/Aquarium Fun

One afternoon it was blazing hot, the littles were up early from naps and we decided spur of the moment to go to the aquarium.  Our kids love the aquarium, especially Andrew who asks at least several times randomly every week to go.  When we got there we remembered that the dinosaur exhibit was up for the summer!  The aquarium is a perfect outing for our family: leave after nap, go for an hour or so, dig for sharks teeth on the way out, eat at El's on the way home, tuck everyone into bed :)

As we were walking in James said, "I just do not understand what dinosaurs even have to do with aquariums".

Everyone except these two were a little freaked out by the t-rex

Andrew and Kate were both a little concerned when they heard the dinosaurs make sounds and start moving.  At one
point Kate yelled out to the world "It's not going to eat me!!!!!!"

I even got sucked into buying this family photo!

Father's Day

Every year for the past couple of years Ryan asks for the same thing for Father's Day- to play in the member guest golf tournament which translates into three days of golf.  Pretty much his favorite present ever :)

My favorite part is that there are two dinners so we get back to back date nights!

On Father's Day he woke up to lots of homemade love.
Kate and Andrew had made these at preschool before the year was over

Thank goodness for the preschool teachers.

They also had their donuts with dad to celebrate their daddy's before the year ended

Ryan loved his new ties they made him

I have been doing a summer bible study and they did this as the kid craft for the week.
Notes from James and Harrison

I almost missed this but Harrison had done this on the back of his card. I don't know if I have ever seen him write "I love you" with no prompting. So sweet!

The story behind this card is that Walmart at the beach was selling enormous Father's Day cards and James really wanted to go get one for Ryan.  By the time we made it back the only one left was this one in the shape of a beer mug lol.

Harrison also insisted on decorating this paper plate for him.  How can you not feel loved when all of this is waiting for you???

Wake up daddy! Love that we are rocking those Christmas pajamas.

After church we met two other families for brunch.

It was typical chaotic fun! Happy Father's Day Ryan!

Summer Kick Off

Ryan has recently been swamped with work so once all the kids were officially done with school I loaded them up and we headed to the beach to kick off the summer!

Andrew and Kate like the beach SO much more this year!

James and Harrison both took swim lessons at the pool every day and I think it wore Harrison out.

The big boys and I made a Walmart run and when we were walking in we suddenly realized that Harrison was wearing both legs in one pant hole- crazy kid!

Happy boy!

Kate loves this rocking chair

Our annual late night walk on the beach

We were hunting for sea glass, we didn't find any but did discover some neat shells

The movie theater had the kid $1 movies so we all went one morning. I was worried Andrew and Kate wouldn't be able to handle it but they loved it and Harrison ended up being the one who had to leave early because he was scared which I felt really guilty about.  Thankfully my mom was with us to take him out. Andrew has asked almost every day since "Can we go back to the movie theater? And see the mittens (minions)? "

At one point I looked over and Kate had climbed up on James and was snuggling with him. I think she was about ready to fall asleep.

The robes are hilarious to me. Harrison had been begging for a robe so I finally got all the kids some and they love them.

Face time with Ryan

Kate loves the pool this year! We are still working on Andrew.

Our babysitter came one night so we could go out to dinner without the kiddos.

Happy early Father's Day dad!

Before we knew it it was time to go home. What a great start to our summer!
