4th of July Weekend

We had such a fun 4th of July weekend this year.  We had planned on going to Wilmington just for the day and then my mom unexpectedly offered to babysit the kids for us to go out if we came the night before so we ended up jumping in the car and going.  David and Greer and Georgia were out of town so we just took over their house for the weekend.

Dinner out! My wannabe margarita
The next morning we headed to the beach for a bit before the 4th of July parade.

The parade went right down the street in front of where my parents are building there house so we just camped out right there.

Harrison was VERY serious about this parade

I think the sirens and horns freaked him out a bit!
After the parade we went to the island celebration where they had tons of jump houses for kids, free food and ice cream, and then we went to the pool for some swimming. By the time we were left Harrison was EXHAUSTED.  Of course he fell asleep for five minutes in the car and that was the nap for the day...  Late that afternoon we headed back to the beach!

James loves his boogie board

Hello crazy hair

H worked so hard on getting that flag just right
Happy 4th of July!
I looked over and Ryan had taken the relaxing to a new level
Wearing their red, white, and blue
That night James really wanted to see the fireworks so we left Harrison with Ryan and went to watch them from my parents' pier. Of course we had to stop by and let James do the jump houses and slides a few more times.

Glow sticks!
James had been so excited about the fireworks and then freaked out when they started because they were so loud so he and I got to sit in the car and watch them together.

The next morning it was time to head back to New Bern.  We had such a fun time!

Judge us not- our babysitter came that night and we went out.  Sometimes you need a little vacation after the vacation! Perfect way to end our holiday
