January Misc

January- it felt like a long cold month but we made it! Here are a few of our memories along the way.

I caught Kate reading her baby a story

There are no words to describe how much my kids love Mr. Stuart who drives the golf cart at the hospital.  He watches for us every morning to give us a ride. Recently when we got off and he was about to drive away Kate yelled "Wait! I need a kiss and hug!"  Sweetest man ever!

Time for baby to have a bottle
The never ending job of sorting clothes that have been outgrown

Not quite sure how milk and cereal ended up on our floor but this is the reason we insisted on the all weather floor mats

Am I the only parent that literally has to wrestle her kids into the car seats while they scream about it?

Making the most of the Sonic happy hour

Love my late night reading time with James

The solution to both wanting to sit in Mommy's lap

She loves her Minnie souvenir from our trip

It's always a great day when we can see daddy during speech.  It was 8:05 when we took this picture and Ryan had already been to two meetings and done one surgery.  He came and saw us for a quick minute and then was off again- busy busy!

Preschool winterfest fun

First time getting her face painted- she loved it!

Cooking some pizza

Bedtime giggles

I would love to know how much money we have spent on these pouches over the years

Picnic lunch on a day where the weather was finally warm

This is her "I will not smile" face

Movie night!

I think H has been having a growth spurt lately.  After eating an entire breakfast it was time for school and he was still "starving" and begged to bring some mac and cheese. #pickyourbattles

We also had a special date one morning and I got suckered into ice cream at breakfast.
He got a lot of comments from people. I think they were secretly envious :)

Funny/Sweet Sayings Harrison Edition

It has been a long time since I did one of these posts! I have been in a terrible rut of not writing down funny thing that the kids (particularly Harrison) say.  Recently I made an individual note for each kid on my phone and so as soon as they say something I can quickly record it down.  I still don't do it that often but I'm trying. :)

So here are some of Harrison's latest sayings:

"God can wash away our sins you know. Maybe it's because he made water."

"Daddy has sugar in his belly. I saw him eating Oreos."

"For Christmas I want 100 candy bags, a fire sword, an ice sword, and a really tall ladder."

Yet another Christmas conversation:

Mom- "What do yall want for Christmas?

Harrison- "I want something expensive and also a real motorcycle with seat belts."

James- "I want whatever you would like to get me mom.

If those two statements don't show their different personalities then I don't know what does!

"Well....when I die and go to heaven God's not going to have a wooden spoon for spanking."

Harrison- "James, whose the best bad guy in Ninjago James? James? James? James?!?!"

James- "stop asking me questions. I just want peace and quiet."

Harrison- "I don't even like peace and quiet."

"I want to get chased by the police car."

"Mom will you pray and ask Jesus to not let me have any bad dreams ? And that I won't fall into a crocodile's mouth?"

Mom- "Harrison what fun things do you want to do this weekend?"
Harrison- "I want to dye eggs or cut into pumpkins. Actually I want to go to the beach house but I only want it to be with you.  Pappy can take care of James and the babies and Nene can come to the beach house to make sure we don't mess it up."

"Mom sometimes when you don't know something you have to Google it.  And if Google doesn't know what it is then you have to like ask God or something."

Mom- "Ok we are playing the quiet game."
Harrison- "Can I talk?"

"Can you believe this thing just bonked me in my eye? And now I have electricity in it."

"Mom if I eat this food then it will make me die"  (just what you want to be told after working hard on dinner!)

Mom- "Harrison what was your favorite part of the Disney trip?"
Harrison- "Well actually I hated all of it"
Mom- "Okay, I will never take you back."
Harrison- "Well actually I do want to go again."

One thing is for sure- you never know what exactly is going to come out of his mouth!

A Magical Day

The next morning we were ready to tackle Magic Kingdom.  With it being our last day we wanted to make the most of it. We ended up getting to the park before it opened and staying until it closed! I was so impressed no one melted down but the boys (and my mom and myself) all managed to make it.

Breakfast at the hotel

Riding the monorail- always a big hit!

We tried to make the most of that first hour or two before the crowds got crazy

Riding in this car with Harrison driving gave me a sneak peak into the future and all I have to say is Ryan better teach these kids how to drive, not me! I have already told him "I do the potty training, you do the driver's ed"

Somehow they ended up riding the tea cups with this random lady

My mom hates roller coasters but she humored me and rode on just one

Both boys loved this ride

It keeps track of your score and James came in last between the four of us.  The kid is SO competitive that the whole day he talked about wanting to go back for a redo but the line was always too long.  It's going to drive him crazy forever!

One of the boys favorite activities was doing the penny presses.  They had machines all over the parks.  I liked it because it was a small souvenir that doesn't take up much space

Taking a break on the people mover which ended up breaking down in the pitch black dark underneath space mountain. Not cool

Meanwhile back home Daddy was getting these two ready for church. I'm impressed- dressed, shoes, and even accessories :)

Parade time! H looks less than impressed
Time for the next ice cream break

Check out what Nene ordered!

Harrison was not a fan of his ice cream so he requested some water instead. I love that crazy kid!

Soon it was time for an early dinner at Be Our Guest

Photo credit: Random lady who felt sorry for us haha

We obviously spent our time waiting perfecting our selfies together

When our name was called James was asked to carry Lumiere to our table

Harrison was so thrilled by these dinner rolls

Dessert choices: James- triple chocolate. Me- strawberry with cream cheese icing. Harrison- lemon meringue.

When he tried his meringue cupcake he said "Mom this is like the best thing I have ever tasted in my whole life."

After dinner we got to meet the Beast.  Harrison stood so far away at first and sloooowly inched closer and closer to him.

Checking out the rest of the castle

Nene's favorite ride- It's a Small World.

It was almost time for the parade and Nene said she would buy them one souvenir.  Believe it or not this is the EXACT same thing that James chose three years ago.  These kids love swords!
Time for the fireworks!

Ryan makes fun of me but I seriously get emotional watching the fireworks with the kids. There is something so special about being there, in that exact moment and seeing the wonder and awe on their faces. It's one of those moments that you try to take a mental snap shot of so that you never ever forget.

The park was opened for 30 more minutes after the fireworks. I know mom and I were tired at this point but the boys really wanted to do a little bit more so off we went!

Dumbo at night!

No line at the tea cups meant we jumped on for one more turn

The crowds that day were crazy. The price you pay for everything is ridiculous and the food was mediocre but the memories were worth every single bit of effort and cost. The time we had together was something I will never forget.  I have to also say that the fact Ryan was willing to miss it (which he was very sad about) so that I got to make these memories with James and Harrison was also a huge huge gift to the three of us.

10:00 p.m. on the monorail- he finally crashed!

The next day it was time to head home.

Nene was a trooper on this trip! It was great having her so that we could each spend some one on one time with each boy.

Our flight home was delayed but Ryan kept these two up for me so I could kiss them and put them to bed. I missed them so much! Don't worry Andrew and Kate- your time is coming :)
