Shannon's Beach Weekend

I can't tell you how excited I was to get to go to the beach for Shannon's bachelorette weekend!  For starters it was at the beach which I love.  It also included some of my favorite girls in the world, lots of yummy food, and 2 days of rest and relaxation.  It was awesome! I can't remember when the last time I got to be so mellow and relaxed. Not to mention I got to stay up WAY late talking and not have to be woken up by the human alarm clock (aka James) the next morning.  These are just a few of the pictures from the weekend (taken by my very talented friend and photographer Sara Davis.)  If anyone in NC ever needs a photographer you need to get Sara! And Sara always comes to visit at least once a year so if anyone in Shreveport ever needs some family pictures let me know.  She does a great job of capturing every-day memories in a way that is unforgettable and I have loved the ones she has taken for me over the years.

The first day down at the beach was also Ashley's birthday.  We loved getting to celebrate with her.

Yummy cake made by yours truly, Debbie, and James. :)

After spending some time on the beach we had dinner and then a fun shower for Shannon.

We made her play a few games...but I won't put pictures of everything! Haha- we kept it pretty tame per her request. :)

Cute cupcakes for the shower

We also all made her a scrapbook with a letter and bible verse for her and Andy as they start their marriage together. It was neat to see what everyone had picked.

The next day was spent lounging, sunning, laughing, and of course talking.  It ended with a yummy seafood dinner out and then we made the trip back to Greenville.

While I was off celebrating with the girls and the bride-to-be, my parents were left in charge of James.  Needless to say they had a lot of fun and he was a little spoiled by the time I got back!

Before I left for the beach James helped my mom and me make a birthday cake for Ashley's birthday.  He was so proud of himself and kept talking about the "cake, Ash shash, and hap bir" Hap bir- the only part of the song that he can sing!

Making a cookie cake
Right after I left mom took him to Barnes and Noble.  They have a train set so he was super excited to get to play there.  Our newest obsession: trains.

That night they heard some music and it was the ice cream truck.  Needless to say James convinced Nene and Pappy that they needed some.  The funny thing is my mom picked him out a 100% fruit bar, trying to keep in line with my healthy food wishes, and my dad got an ice cream sandwich.  As soon as James saw that ice cream sandwich he demanded that my dad trade with him!

Pretty tasty!
My dad was sweet to take off the next day from work so he could spend some time with James and help my mom.  James sure does love time with Pappy!

Ever since our last trip James has talked about Pappy taking him (in his big white car) to get a donut with sprinkles.  Soooooo Pappy caved to pressure and took him back.  I think James had plenty to eat in the 36 hours I was gone!

Afterwards they stopped at the Little League field.  I spent MANY hours there as a child, being a faithful little sister and supporting David's baseball career.

They have a great park there. James loved swinging and playing!

Even Pappy did the slide!

Elmo decided to go for a swing as well.

My dad also decided to work on James's basketball skills while I was gone as well.
Slam dunk!
It was such a special weekend for me.  I miss my friends and family so much so it was wonderful to get to have this time with them.
